Click on the 'Insertion Point' button
and the command prompt reads:
Give Point Position:
Use any of the snaps and input options to indicate the point you to draw the insertion point at.
Insertion points are used in conjunction with the Insert Symbol command.
When inserting a symbol in to a drawing the symbol is attached to the cursor by its default insertion point,
this command allows additional points to be added in key positions so that you can choose which is the preferred insertion point on each occasion.
An insertion point has no function in the drawing it is inserted into other than you can snap to it.
