Modifying/Moving a Staircase

Available in: Architectural Only

Double click on a staircase and the staircase dialog box appears allowing modification to any of the settings. Once the changes are complete click OK and the  staircase will be updated.

Alternatively single click on a staircase and its entity handles are displayed. Once you have selected the staircase the editing choices are to either Delete it, modify the properties using the Properties Explorer or the Ribbon, or to move one of the entity handles.

A staircase has two or three entity handles depending on the staircase type. Move the cursor over any of the handles and its colour changes to yellow then simply click to select it. All types have a major handle (red) at the justification point at the top of the landing/first landing. If selected this handle attaches the whole staircase to the cursor allowing it to be moved to a new position and clicked into place using any of the snaps and input options.  (Alternatively select the move button Move  command.)  All types have a minor handle (blue) at the bottom of the staircase. Select this point to modify the staircase rotation. Quarter and half turn staircases have a third minor handle, this controls the side that the second flight is placed on, simply move this point either side of the first flight as required.

For the half turn staircase this handle also sets the width of the landing.
